I don't know about you, but culinary shows are a must in my house. Every evening we watch different kind of shows, but one of my favourites is Bake Off UK. It is a great source for new ideas and, you know cakes are super appealing to watch!

If you have ever seen any Mary Berry's recipe, you will know that they always seems a bit difficult to reproduce, but not the Cherry Cake.
 Here it is the recipe:

200 gr of glazé cherries
225 gr of flour
175 gr of butter
175 gr of sugar
3 eggs
some lemon zest
some yeast
150 gr of icing sugar
1/2 lemon juice
some cherries for decoration
In addition
2-3 spoons of flour
some butter for greasing

1.Preheat the oven to 180 °.
2. Cut the cherries into quarters(leaving about 5-6 cherries for the decoration), wash them well and put them in a small bowl with 2-3 spoons of flour.
3.Mix flour, softned butter, sugar, eggs and lemon zest in a big bowl for few minutes.
4.Add lightly the cherries.
5.Put the mixture in a greased savarin mould or in a greased round cake tin.
6.Put the savaring mould in the oven for 35-40 minutes.
7. Leave the tin outside the oven for 10 minutes, then take it out the mould to let it cool down.
8.Time for the icing! Mix sugar and the juice till the mixture become thick.
9.When the cake is cold, drizzle on the top some icing and put the cherries on top, as you can see on my photos.
10.Time to eat. :)

Bon Appétit!
Have a nice day
